In partnership with our members, we thank audiences for coming to the movies – working with the actors, directors, cast, and crews to speak directly to audiences expressing our gratitude that they’ve come to see the movie. While AMC Theaters served as our launch partner in this effort, we have since expanded to hundreds of other theaters nationwide. The idea, after all, is a simple one. It’s already done in countless other industries – musicians, speakers, performers, and airlines all say thank you to the audiences and customers that support what they do. We want to do the same. We are thankful for our audiences. Without them, what we do wouldn’t be possible. On some movies, right before they start, you’ll see a brief variation on the simple message: “By your patronage, you, the audience, contribute to creativity, your contribution matters, and we thank you for it.” The spots can be humorous or dramatic, but they are genuine and heartfelt. It’s a simple Thank You emphasizing that where you watch matters and shows our industry’s appreciation for audiences doing the right thing.
