On October 29, 2019, we brought the creative team of Crazy Rich Asians to Washington, DC for a Creative Rights Caucus event. Appearing at the event were producer John Penotti, associate producer Janice Chua, actor Chris Pang, costume designer Mary Vogt, and music producer Cheapshot.

The event featured a panel to discuss what it takes to make a movie like Crazy Rich Asians and why strong intellectual property protections are necessary for creative industries to thrive.

“[If copyright isn’t protected] you can’t get the magic that it brings. And, it isn’t just entertainment — it’s our culture, and it’s our identity, and it can make changes, like this movie did, that far exceed just entertaining people.” Well said, @MitchGlazier! Without copyright, there is no #CrazyRichAsians. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣(Footage from “Anatomy of a Movie: Crazy Rich Asians,” an event we recently hosted in Washington, DC in partnership with the RIAA and Creative Rights Caucus to discuss what it takes to make a movie like “Crazy Rich Asians” and why strong intellectual property protections are necessary for creative industries to thrive.) ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣#Movie #Music #Producer #RomCom #RIAA ⁣ ⁣

One does not simply walk into Mordor – and, likewise, one does not simply walk into a location and start filming. Producer John Penotti reveals what it took for #CrazyRichAsians to film at Singapore’s most famous tourist attraction. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣(Footage from “Anatomy of a Movie: Crazy Rich Asians,” an event we recently hosted in Washington, DC in partnership with the RIAA and Creative Rights Caucus to discuss what it takes to make a movie like “Crazy Rich Asians” and why strong intellectual property protections are necessary for creative industries to thrive.) ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣#Singapore #gardensbythebay #onlocation #producer #filmmaking #film #movie #movies #romcom #romantic #romanticcomedy
